Which Home Security Kit is Right for You? Part 1

Today, we’re taking a look at our newest and most affordable kit, known as the Abode Security Kit. It includes everything you need to get started with a basic alarm system that can be armed when you’re away to deter and stop unwanted intrusion into your home or property.

And, what does each device do?

• Abode Security Hub: The brain of your security system, the hub communicates with any other security or home tech products you might have, such as sensors, cameras, voice assistants, and door locks and then communicates back to you so can be sure your home is safe, no matter where you are.
• Key Fob: This pocket-sized but powerful control device lets you arm and disarm your security system with a single press of a button.
• Mini Door Sensor: This sensor can be placed on any door or window to detect when it is opened or closed. You can use the sensor to create automations that trigger other devices in your home, such as turning on lights or sounding an alarm.

Once you have your system set up, you can easily add additional sensors to create even more customized “automations” or pre-programmed actions. These are generally triggered by sensors who measure a change in status (example: open door vs closed door), as well as movement or motion depending on which products you have installed (example: motion detected on the front porch.)
