The best alarm is the one you never have to think about — and that's exactly what this is. I bought this because it offered real flexibility: I can use gear from many other vendors alongside Abode's own accessories, and I love having the choice to self-monitor with no monthly fee or go with professional monitoring at a reasonable price (I went with pro monitoring since it gets me a discount on my homeowners insurance).
But the standout feature is geofencing. My wife and I don't have to worry about remembering to arm the system when we leave. With geofencing, it just turns on automatically, and when one of us comes home, it switches off — no scrambling to a keypad to disarm. The result? Whenever we're not home, the alarm is always on. No exceptions. We're actually getting the protection we're paying for.
Setup was straightforward and the system just works reliably day after day. If you want a no-hassle security system that actually protects your home without constant fiddling, this is it.

The Abode security system works perfectly with no issues. This is my second Abode system and I wouldn’t recommend any other. The support is fantastic and the ability to integrate my smart-home devices is a big plus!

So, we recently made the leap from a cramped apartment to our first real house (yay adulting!), and with a kiddo on the way, making our new nest secure was top on the agenda. Enter the Abode Security Kit. This thing is like the Swiss Army knife of home security. Setup was less of a chore and more of an adventure, with an instruction manual that actually made sense (shocker, right?). Now, I'm a sucker for anything that plays nice with my iOS gadgets and our home's newfound friend, Alexa. Abode didn’t disappoint! The Alexa integration is smoother than butter, and the Interactive iOS Widgets are the cherry on top. I can arm, disarm, and check the status of my home’s security right from my phone’s home screen, without needing to dive into an app. It's like living in the future, but now. And with a baby on board, the less I have to fiddle with things, the better. The app is also pretty intuitive, so I didn’t need a degree in rocket science to figure out how to use it. With Abode, I now have fewer gray hairs worrying about keeping the family safe. It’s smart, it’s sleek, and it doesn’t break the bank. What’s not to love? Highly recommend to any new homeowners, especially if you’re trying to juggle the circus of young family life!
