Bought the 17-piece bundle because we have a 4-bedroom house with 3 exterior doors, 12 windows on the ground floor, and a detached garage. The bundle gave us enough sensors to cover every entry point without buying extras.
Setup took about 45 minutes — the app walks you through adding each sensor one at a time. Peel, stick, pair, name, done. My 14-year-old helped and thought it was easy. The hub connects via ethernet to our router and the 4G cellular backup kicked in once during a power outage last month. We got a push notification saying backup power was active and the system stayed armed the entire time.
We run on the Connect plan at $6/month for professional monitoring. The monitoring station called within 30 seconds when I accidentally triggered the alarm testing a window sensor — fast response and they verified our safe word before standing down.
The 17-piece kit was the right call for a larger home. If you have more than 8-10 entry points, do not buy the smaller kits and add individual sensors — the bundle pricing saves you $80-100 vs buying separately.
