Security Hub 17-Piece Bundle

Ten years with Abode now — started with a gen 1 system and upgraded to the gen 2 hub. The system has very rarely gone offline in all that time, which is the most important thing for a security setup. We use it primarily for self-monitoring, and it works well for our family. I paired it with First Alert Z-Wave smoke and CO detectors from Costco, which integrate directly through the hub. Leak detection runs through Govee separately, and cameras are Nest, but the core alarm and sensors have always been Abode. Google voice integration has been solid the entire time. I also run a Hubitat hub for local control of lights with less latency, but honestly I could have skipped it and stayed with Abode since the Google voice response time was always fine. The initial investment was around $700 for the full package — hub, keypad, siren, glass break detectors, and sensors. Over ten years that works out to about $6 per month for the hardware alone, with no mandatory subscription. Hard to beat that math compared to companies charging $30-50 per month just for monitoring. They do nickel and dime a bit more than they used to on the subscription tiers, but the core self-monitoring experience remains strong and reliable.
