Set this up in my 3-bedroom house last month. The 9-piece kit covered all entry points with sensors to spare. Setup took about 45 minutes — the app walked me through pairing each sensor one at a time. The hub connects to WiFi and has cellular backup on the paid plan, which I ended up getting for $6/month. What sold me was HomeKit. I have an Apple household and being able to arm/disarm from the Home app or ask Siri is exactly what I wanted. Ring and SimpliSafe cannot do that. The CUE automations are useful too — I have it auto-arm at 11pm and disarm when I unlock the front door in the morning. The siren is loud. Like, genuinely startling loud. Accidentally tripped it once and my neighbor came to check on me. Only complaint: the mini door sensors are a bit chunky compared to other brands. They work fine but are not winning any design awards. Battery life has been solid though — no replacements needed in 4 months. For the price vs what SimpliSafe charges monthly, this was an easy choice. The free tier alone gives you more than what Ring gives you with a $20/month subscription.

Switched from SimpliSafe after they bumped the monitoring price to $22/month. The Smart Security Hub kit with 9 pieces gave me more sensors out of the box than SimpliSafe's comparable kit, and the free self-monitoring tier means I'm paying $0/month for the same level of protection I had before. The Z-Wave radio in the hub was a surprise bonus — I connected my existing Schlage smart lock and two GE light switches directly to the Abode hub instead of running a separate Z-Wave stick. CUE automations let me turn on porch lights when the motion sensor triggers after sunset. That's the kind of thing SimpliSafe charges extra for. App 7.1 improved live camera streaming noticeably. Clips load faster and the timeline view makes it easier to scrub through motion events. Still wish the Cam 2 did 2K instead of 1080p, but for $35 it's hard to complain. Setup was about 30 minutes for the full kit including calibrating sensor positions. Would have been faster if I'd read the placement guide first. Overall very happy — 4 months in, system has been rock solid.

When we were deciding what we needed for our home, the Abode team was excellent — no pushy upselling, just honest guidance. They educated us on everything but let us choose what actually made sense for our situation. Installation was a breeze — my wife and I had the whole system up and running in under an hour. The app walked us through every step. What we love most is the flexibility. We can customize the monitoring to our schedule — armed at night, geofenced during the day. No rigid plans, no long-term contracts. Highly recommend for anyone who wants professional-grade security without the hard sell.

Super easy install and tons of add-on options for sensors, alarms, and more. Also acts as a smart home hub — I connected Z-Wave light switches to the Abode gateway for scheduling lights. The geofencing feature to auto arm/disarm based on your family's location is fantastic. Automation is super easy to set up using the app or website; very powerful and intuitive interface. I've also built a sprinkler control box out of compatible Z-Wave switches so I can automate my sprinkler system through Abode. It works incredibly well with other systems (Alexa, Google, third-party sensors, garage door openers, locks, etc). All of this adds up to a powerful system that works as basic security or a full smart home control hub with endless possibilities. Lastly, the hardware is very sleek, professional and high quality. Other smart home security brands look like toy systems in comparison.
