Trends in modern tech are making smart security systems more intuitive than ever before. At abode, we continue to adapt our offerings to meet the ways people are interacting with and protecting their homes. In fact, we recently announced an enhanced automation platform, CUE, which enables the setup of sophisticated, customized smart home automations.
By installing a smart home security system, you’ll be able to keep your family safe and enjoy peace of mind when you leave for work, knowing you’ll be notified right on your phone if something is wrong. If any anomalies occur when you are away, you will be alerted instantly through the mobile app.
With abode’s new security technology, you can register multiple smartphones with your account and configure automations based on the physical location of those registered devices directly from your smartphone.
An example of an automation could be “When David leaves home, turn the lights off and set my system to Away mode.” In order for your system to trigger this automation, you’ll need to enter your home as a geolocation in your abode account. To do this, all you have to do is name the location, enter the address, and use the slider to draw a boundary. Sound complicated? Don’t worry, check out this step-by-step instruction to learn how. By setting the geofence, your security system will know that David’s device has left home and your lights will turn off and the system will arm. All without lifting a finger.
In addition to automations, abode enables you to remotely monitor your system at any time and from anywhere through the free iOS and Android mobile apps. If an alarm goes off in your home, you’ll receive an alert on your smartphone immediately. Within the app, you’re able to review photos or video (depending on which devices you have) of what triggered the alarm. From there, either dismiss the alert or act by calling the police or speaking with one of abode’s professional monitoring agents. Within just seconds of the alarm going off, significant action has already been taken to protect your home.
With the abode mobile app, you can also arm or disarm your system remotely, and control the devices you have connected to your system. For example, you can unlock the door for your dog walker when they arrive and lock it when they leave. This allows you to control who is entering and exiting your home without giving away security codes or tangible keys, which can put your home and loved ones at risk.
With this emerging cybersecurity technology, it’s easy to protect what matters to you most. Find the abode plan that works for you and get up and running with abode.
