Heh - I long had my suspicions regarding who it was that kept "taking out' my mailbox. Some insisted it had to be kids. But NO! My camera caught a beautiful clip of a *school bus* taking out my mailbox!! (And going waay too fast.) I sent the clip to the School Board. Next... Read more

Heh - I long had my suspicions regarding who it was that kept "taking out' my mailbox. Some insisted it had to be kids. But NO! My camera caught a beautiful clip of a *school bus* taking out my mailbox!! (And going waay too fast.) I sent the clip to the School Board. Next thing I knew we had police enforcing the 20 mph school zone and *all* of the school buses giving my mailbox a wide berth. (It's amazing how fast word spreads that so-and-so just got in big trouble for hitting mailboxes and driving too fast.) And to be fair - they were only driving a "little" fast as they approached the school with a busload of kiddos - it was as they were leaving the school that the buses looked like they were trying to drag race. But the camera's quality was just awesome and it caught all the sound as well! Love these little cameras.

This camera has been a lifesaver, we have finally managed to figure out the missing cake phenomenon afflicting our family. The culprit? My husband! He has been caught red-handed on multiple occasions sneaking food from the fridge after midnight and denying it the next day - but now we have the video proof, and he still denies it!!! If only this camera were battery-operated, we would put one inside the fridge too!

I started with just 1 Abode Cam 2, then a couple more, and quickly increase it to 9 due to the great experience I had with just the first few. I have compared the 2 Abode Cam 2's to the Arlo 3 2K I have installed to cover the front of my home and I have found the Person motion detection to be fairly similar. These 2 cameras are in a high motion area and after reading the support article on how the Cam 2 motion detection works and comparing 24/7 recording costs it was an easy decision to go with the Abode 24/7 recording plan. I get multiple camera 24/7 recording for less than the price of 1 camera with Arlo. I have had a very good experience with the 24/7 Abode recording and Person/Pet detection. When I was having an issue a few days ago Abode Tech Support was there to help me work thru the issue. Today the Abode Cam 2's covering the front of my home notified me of a Person detected, I quickly saw in the notification preview on my phone that there was a person attempting to open the door of my truck when I was not home. I was able to activate a siren sound routine, thru Alexa not setting off an Abode alarm, causing the person to flee. The other feature I am very impressed with is Abode's integration with Amazon Alexa. I have several Alex Show 5's setup so that when a Person is detected on a camera the Abode Cam 2 camera will begin to stream on the devices, which allows me to quickly see what is happening when I am home. I also have Amazon Fire TV stick which I can show any of the Abode Cam 2's on my TV plus I can do PIP to see a camera while watching TV. When I consider everything cost, functionality, integration, detection, value etc. It is a perfect choice for me. I have been an Abode customer since 2017 there have been many changes in 5 years the Abode Cam 2 has been one of good ones.

I have become increasingly appreciative of the Abode service and after 6 months, I am more convinced than ever that I’ve made the right choice. I’ll start with the integrations. They are second to none! After a few chats and two calls, the rep was able to upgrade my firmware (no available update was showing in the app), allowing me to connect with apple HomeKit and my Ecobee thermostats. A second simple step allowed me to connect my Apple Watch. From there, all of my abode devices immediately showed up in HomeKit and I was immediately able to access, arm and unarm my system through apple and, specifically, through Siri. These integrations are perfect and I have no problems whatsoever. Next, I’ll focus on the cameras. They are really good cameras and have so far held up through a wide range of Chicago weather. I don’t like the short cables that came with the camera and I don’t like the fact that a wall plug is the only power source. However when looking at their functionality, their adjustable mounting options, their ease of access, app control, and their price, they are probably the best cameras I’ve ever had from an alarm company, and that is even more true when I take into account the 24/7 recording option. That being said, the live recording upgrade is a must, and is more than comparable to other services, if not better. The general install was easier than promoted. I was able to set up the entire system in less than 30 minutes (cameras not included); my system includes 5 door sensors, a base, a motion detector, a glass break sensor and a keypad. I removed the keychain from the system because it seemed too easy to hit the wrong button and there is no was to really secure access. The total setup of 30 minutes included getting the base up and running. I must admit, it took another two days to finalize HomeKit integration, but that’s because I wasn’t aware that I needed to contact customer service and have them manually push through the correct firmware upgrade. I imagine that process will become simpler over time, as they continue to make upgrades to the system. The only issues that I have is the sensitivity of the glass break sensor. Stacking glass plates, vacuuming, and even opening a can of root beer has activated the alarm, but I can’t say I’m mad about it, because it gives me peace of mind that I’m covered. The customer service, the equipment, and the price, more than make up for it. This is by far one of the best home purchases I’ve made and I would recommend abode to anyone looking for a customizable home alarm system.

For the price, I didn't expect much from the Abode Cam 2, but I was amazed at how easily it integrated with the rest of my Abode system and just how clear the images are. I have three so far, will be adding a fourth soon!

Incredible value for a highly effective camera! I’m a huge fan of this camera, simple, small but highly effective at detecting people who come to the door. Setup was very easy, I was shocked when it came in its small and sleek packaging but once you get it on it really works beautifully and takes moments to install. The biggest question you will have is simply where to put the camera and the adjustable camera is sturdy but flexible enough to make anything work. The associated mobile app works too making it really easy to keep track of what’s goin on to stay safe.

I got this camera to provide a bit of extra security. There have been some middle-of-the-night ding-dong ditches in my neighborhood this summer and I wanted to be prepared. We haven't had any security issues, but it ended up being really handy for keeping an eye on my elderly dog when we let him out, especially a night. The night vision is very clear! I wasn't sure how it would fair against weather, but we had a pretty massive storm roll in this weekend and it held steady and is working like charm. It was super easy to set up. I'm glad we got this.
